Three Service Levels Offered
Before making flight arrangements, our medical flight crew will consult with the patient’s physician in order to evaluate the patient’s medical condition and decide the best method of medical transportation prior to flight booking. Arrangements are made based upon medical need. Air Ambulance Services provides three levels of air ambulance service for domestic and international flights, depending on the needs of the patient.
Private Medically Equipped Aircraft
Private medical jets are configured to serve as mini intensive care units and are capable of handling basic life support (BLS), advanced life support (ALS) and critical care patients. We provide the appropriate medical staff., which can include nurses, respiratory therapists, paramedics and physicians. All medical flights are staffed according to each patient’s specific necessities.
International Commercial Stretcher Service
Air Ambulance Services can also transport patients using international commercial stretcher service on commercial airlines. This service will require advanced planning. We will block out rows of seats on the commercial airliner to permit room for an FAA approved stretcher, then surround the area with a curtain. All necessary medical staff and equipment for the flight is arranged by us.
Medical Escort Service
Air Ambulance Services will arrange travel assistance and medical escorts for patients who have been cleared by their physician to travel with a medical escort on commercial flights. Medical escorts accompany patients who are stable and able to walk on their own onto the plane.
